Don't miss the other attractions in
Boston
Janice Chadbourne, Curator of Fine Arts Reference at the Boston Public Library was kind enough to provide the following information.
Thanks Janice!
& thanks also to "SDale" for prompting the query.

Antoon van Dijk is a variant form of
Anthony Van Dyke(Flemish painter and draughtsman, 1599-1641). He appears in many standard art dictionaries and encyclopedias including the Grove Dictionary of Art.

The Claflin Building, dating from 1882-1884, was the first home of the Boston University College of Liberal Arts. The architect of this building was William G. Preston.
In Nancy Lurie Salzman’s Buildings and Builders: An Architectural History of Boston University (Boston University, 1985) appears the following description (page 24):

“In the spandrels between the arches, the terra-cotta portrait plaques of the artists Albrect (sic) Durer and Anton van Dijk (Anthony van Dyke)
separate the three window arches, which terminate in paired columns.”

We have no information about the identity of the designer of the terra-cotta medallions or plaques.

The Claflin Building contains both a Durer& Van Dijkmedallion.
